In late 2019, a small group of artists came together to create Fathom Arts Consortium with the intent to invest in local artists. We did this by developing opportunities for artists to grow professionally, exhibit their work, and network with a creative community.
When 2020 brought the pandemic it tremendously slowed progress towards our organizational mission to an eventual halt. At that time, Nick Hood led the organization as the Executive Director along with a five member Board of Directors in our effort to register as a 501(c)3 and build a membership based creative network of local artists.
In 2021, we re-emerged with Pam Whiteley as the new Executive Director to rebuild our artist member community and Board of Directors. Over the years, we’ve increased our membership to over 100 local artists and arts supporters. We’ve activated 4 exhibition spaces where we’ve hosted 55 different art exhibits. These exhibits included over 50 local artists who took home 100% of profits which totals around $10,000. We’ve offered 12 different creative workshops, 8 community projects including murals in the outdoor refreshment area downtown and an interactive ArtWalk installation in 2024. We’ve held up to 10 different professional development opportunities such as artist critiques, supply swaps, and resume writing.
In 2022, we officially became a 501(c)3. We primarily generate funding through donations and membership dues from local artists and arts supporters. We’ve engaged and partnered with 11 different local businesses and organizations.
